Name: Jalen Falcon |
Age: 27 |

Occupation: Director of Happiness and Scheduling Wizard (my unofficial title!). I manage appointments for our children clients at a center for autism. I know everyone's birthday and plan the best parties and team building events.
What is 'happiness' for you?
To me, happiness is always seeing the glass half full. No matter the situation, I always try to see things in a grateful and optimistic point of view.
What is your current creative outlet / how do you express yourself?
Singing! lol I love to make up songs and jingles about my pets. My bf and sisters find it sometimes annoying that I like to converse through song. Too many Disney movies and musicals!
What is something you’ve been curious about lately that you want to explore more?
Plants! I love how powerful and beautiful these things are and how they provide so much life to this Earth! I want to be a plant mom so bad. I just don't have a green thumb. I've killed succulents before.
What is something only your friends know about you?
I can wiggle my ears. Lol!
Who are you grateful for?
My boyfriend Hudson aka - Hud-Muffin:
1) for always encouraging me to be my weird, awkward self and loving me for it
2) for always making me laugh until I cry #HappyTears
3) for allowing me to be the person he trusts with his deepest darkest secrets. I love doing life with him!
What was the last thing that made you laugh so hard you nearly, or actually(!), fell to the floor?
I was practicing my handstands with Jax, my husky as a spectator. I did the first one OK and when I went down to plant my hands on the second time, my arms were not about it. They gave in and I ended up nearly kicking Jax in the face and rolling on the floor with tears and laughs. I recorded it, so it’s on my Instagram if you need a laugh!
Which cultural and/or social movement is closest to your heart?
Self-love and body positivity! I love these movements for helping me / others realize how to truly care for ourselves and love our bodies, no matter what society says we should look like.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learnt so far in your life?
Solitude! I love a good social gathering. But I've learnt so much about myself and what I am capable of when I strip everything away and it's just me. I love to do this every now and then to reset and recharge.
How would your friends describe you?
Hmm, friendly. Someone who is smiling, happy and joyful, especially while doing an intense workout :)

What is something you’ve never told anyone about yourself? (It’s a tough one, we know!)
Idk, I really thought about this one. I'm pretty transparent and straight forward. I kinda just lay it all out there.
What was the biggest low that you've faced in your life so far? How did you overcome it? What did you learn about yourself in the process?
My biggest low was probably not having belief in myself. My mom helped me overcome this by giving me tough love and believing in me when I couldn't. I also stuck post-it notes with mantras and affirmations on my bathroom mirror to help me. This helped me learn that I am capable of literally anything I set my mind to.
What's your favourite colour? :-)
Pink!! But I've really been loving lavender lately
Have you discovered our Daypack in Pride Pink yet? Pre-order coming 07/31 to Kickstarter! :)
What daily practices do you do that make you happy?
1) cuddles with my cat Maple (pictured below!)
2) sweating from a good workout
3) cold-brew coffee
4) writing motivational post-it notes
5) cooking with Hud

Dipping into the future now for a reflective exercise! At the end of your life, what would your obituary read about your human experience? She was... She did... She learnt... She...?
She was a kind woman who always wore a smile on her face. She encouraged others to view life through someone else's eyes. She learnt the power of love. She was a good one!
What are you scared of? What do you fear?
I am deathly afraid of cockroaches. But I fear for myself and others going through the motions of life and dying with my song left unsung.
Who is your life guru(s)?
Oprah and Rachel Hollis - these women started from zero, had courage in themselves and are spreading their knowledge with others.
Why do you feel connected to @HappyTears.ca?
Scrolling @HappyTears.ca helps me worry less and smile more. The insta captions are inspiring and always leave you thinking about who you are with the questions they ask. The pictures are bright, fun, and creative, which I think we need more of in our social feeds.
How do you describe yourself? Is it the same as your answer above?
I would describe myself as a cheerful person who strives to spread joy with love being the foundation of everything I do in life.
When was the last time you shed a 'happy tear'?
Anytime I watch Ellen I shed lots of happy tears.
Is there anything else you want to share?!
